The Family Room is an extension program of the Ronald McDonald House Charities providing respite in a home-like environment inside Children's Mercy Hospital. The Family Room provides all the comforts of home and seven overnight rooms for families whose children are receiving care in intensive care units.

Provides temporary lodging, respite, and all of the amenities of home convenient to local health facilities, creating a caring and uplifting environment, leveraging community partnerships with affiliated programs that comfort and assist children who have critical illnesses or injuries and their families. They provide three houses with a combined capacity of 80 bedrooms as well as 7 sleeping rooms inside Children's Mercy Hospital in the Family Room program.
