Eligibility

Developmentally disabled individuals 16+. Developmental disabilities include intellectual disabilities, Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, Autism and other neurological conditions that manifest and are diagnosed before the age of 22. They usually limit three or more activities of daily living.

The Center for the Developmentally Disabled provides community housing where men and women are supported 24/7 in group homes located in Kansas City, Independence, Grain Valley and Grandview. CDD also has supported living where individuals are supported in their own apartment according to individual need and may range from a few hours of support per week to 24 hours per day. Day habilitation is also available. Participants are given the opportunity to be involved in community living skills such as shopping, recreation and socialization skills. Additional services include assistance with activities of daily living; health, medical and safety monitoring; transportation and food services; Money management and oversight; Recreation, socialization and travel; and advocacy and legal support.
